FRANKLIN, Mass. — As the winter season unfolds, anticipation builds for another unforgettable summer at AYF Camp Haiastan. Following a successful 2024 season, the camp is excited to announce its 2025 sessions, celebrate a generous donation from the ARS Eastern Region and welcome a returning leader to its Board of Directors.
Welcoming Josh Tevekelian back to the Board
Camp Haiastan of the Armenian Youth Federation Inc. is thrilled to welcome Josh Tevekelian back to its Board of Directors after a 12-year hiatus. A six-year camper, two-year staff member, and active board member for over 15 years, Tevekelian is delighted to return to “the greatest place on earth.”
Tevekelian brings decades of dedication and leadership to Camp Haiastan and the broader Armenian community. Based in the Boston area, Tevekelian has served in numerous roles, including as a trustee at St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church, past chairman and current trustee of the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center and general manager of the Sayat Nova Dance Company of Boston. He also previously chaired the Camp Haiastan Board of Directors. Tevekelian’s return signals a renewed commitment to the camp’s mission and future growth.
Tevekelian holds a degree in finance and accounting from Northeastern University and has over 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate field. He resides in Boston with his wife, Diana, their four-year-old daughter Aline and their Shih Tzu-Poodle Meli.
A generous donation for camper comfort
AYF Camp Haiastan is grateful to the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) Eastern Region for their generous $25,000 donation to fund new mattresses for campers and staff. This contribution highlights the ARS’s unwavering support for Armenian youth and ensures a more comfortable and enjoyable experience at Camp Haiastan.
AYF Camp Haiastan will offer various programs in 2025, tailored to campers of all ages and interests. The schedule includes two-week overnight sessions, a one-week overnight session and two weeks of Day Camp.
- Teen Session “Zartonk”: June 22 – July 5
- Session 1 “Mikaelian”: July 6 – July 19
- Session 2 “Zavarian”: July 20 – August 2
- Session 3 “Zorian”: August 3 – August 10
- Week 1 “Ararat”: June 23 – June 27
- Week 2 “Aragats”: August 4 – August 8
Registration opens in January 2025. Families are encouraged to register early as sessions fill quickly.
Camp Haiastan is actively recruiting staff for 2025, including directors, specialty department leads and support staff. Applications are set to open on December 20. Choose to make a difference by joining the team that is part of creating the camp magic.
