Campgrounds
"The Greatest Place On Earth"
Commonly known as the 'greatest place on Earth' by anyone who has experienced the magic of Camp Haiastan, these are the grounds where summers are made.
In 1940, the AYF Central Executive, with support from the ARS Eastern Region, purchased approximately 100-acres of land in Franklin, MA, to construct a permanent summer camp for Armenian youth.
In 1951, Camp Haiastan opened its gates as the first Armenian summer camp in America.
Nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Franklin, MA, the campgrounds at Camp Haiastan offer a truly enchanting escape into nature. Surrounded by lush greenery and dotted with towering trees, this idyllic retreat provides an ideal setting for campers to immerse themselves in the great outdoors. The spacious and well-maintained grounds cater to a diverse range of activities, from group sports and nature hikes to serene lakeside relaxation. Camp Haiastan boasts modern facilities and accommodations, ensuring a comfortable stay for all visitors.
The campground has changed since the 40's, with many new amenities added in recent years – new arts & crafts building (2019), new staff lounge and laundry room (2019), new directors quarters (2018), new summer office (2018), updated Cabin Circle (2023) and Under The Trees (2023).
